My name is Jo Greenwell. I have a BSc in Psychology (2:1) as well as Stage 1 Certificates in Counselling and British Sign Language and a BSc in Biology (2:1) from the Open University.

In addition, I have delivered courses to teachers, Occupational Therapists and other professionals on the use of assistive technology. I set up ran several projects at AbilityNet including the Remote Access Project in Scotland and London delivering assistive technology training to support staff in community settings. I managed the Becta funded Assistive and Augmentative Communication research project promoting low cost communication aids for young people. In 2010 I set up the AbilityNet DSA centre providing assessments to disabled students in Higher Education. I was also responsible for designing the AbilityNet accredited assessor training program and acted as a course moderator for students.

Since March 2011 I have been self-employed as an independent IT and Disability consultant. I provided expert assistive technology assessments for legal cases between 2012 and 2016. Currently I provide assistive technology assessments to individuals at home and to University students for Disabled Student Allowance based at University of Roehampton and Royal Holloway University of London. I provide training and consultancy to families, carers and schools on assistive technology.

I receive regular updating on Assistive Technology software and hardware from a wide range of suppliers and I hold an Enhanced Disclosure Certificate from the Disclosure and Barring Service.
